DIAGNOSTIC WORKBENCH

What happens if…

Choose your engine. Introduce a fault. Follow the reasoning.

Rule-based simulator

Volkswagen engine & ECU database

ECU variants are kept separate. Match the vehicle and ECU identification before relying on a pairing. A database entry does not add diagnostic simulation support.

Sources and coverage

Supplier-listed means the pairing appears in a tool catalogue, not that VW factory fitment has been independently confirmed. Missing entries do not mean an engine is incompatible. Transmission controllers and undated rows are excluded. Historical model names retain the supplier’s chassis identifiers. The petrol category also includes source-listed petrol-derived variants.

01 Engine & ECU

Choose a pairing from the database above, or enter it manually. Select the fuel type for manual entries. New scenarios use generic diagnostic rules; the CDCA / EDC17CP20 EGR example remains provisional.

02 Set the scenario

An assumption for this experiment, not a confirmed failsafe position.

    Model scope & sources

This version includes fuel-specific and shared qualitative fault scenarios. Generic rules describe possible responses when the stated hardware is fitted. Source references explain general codes and causes; they do not verify the selected ECU calibration. It does not execute Bosch ECU software, connect to a vehicle, or calculate power, temperature or emissions. CDCA / EDC17CP20 is a provisional profile supplied by you; exact diagnostic thresholds, monitor dependencies, fault subtypes and warning-light timing are unverified.
